Wayne Gey, CEO, Wayne Automatic Fire Sprinklers, Inc. (far right) "Last Thursday I was honored, surprised and overwhelmed as I was presented the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2007 Award in Florida. I know this award was not about me but YOU! As I stood before that assembly and received the award I felt a sense of pride yet extremely humbled knowing that I am nothing without all 580+ team members. I wished for all of you to be on stage to receive the award! This award is a resounding WOW for all of you and for what a group of caring people can accomplish when given the opportunity. I want to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for your dedication, hard work and everything that makes you who you are. We have a very unique team, I have known that for a very long time and now the world knows!! Thank you for everything."

The ACG S.M.A.R.T. (Successful Management of Assets, Revenue and Teams) Awards were created to recognize and celebrate Central Florida’s successful growth companies.  These companies are leading our business community in financial strength, active social and community participation as well as appreciation for the company and its employees.  Nominations were accepted in three categories; $10 million or less/annual revenue, $10 million to $250 million in annual revenue, $250 million to $1 billion in annual revenue.
On May 24th at the Downtown Marriott, Wayne Automatic was recognized as the S.M.A.R.T. Award winner in the category of $10 to $250 million in annual revenue.  Wayne Automatic’s CEO, Wayne Gey was on hand to accept the award.  Gey said, “Business has been called a great game.  Truly business is a game, yet many of us aren’t given all the rules of play.  Most of corporate America does not agree with me, but I believe the more we can understand about how business operates including the financials, the better our decisions will be, both in our personal lives and our business.”
The inaugural S.M.A.R.T. Awards keynote speaker was the colorful Wally “Famous” Amos,(shown with Wayne group above) who recognized that all the nominees were winners and contributed to the Central Florida community in many ways.

Congratulations to the Florida "Top Tech Team" Number 1 in the Nation.

In the first ever Top Technician competition held=d in conjunction with the NFSA Annual Seminar & Exhibition in Las Vegas last May, the team from the Florida region battled to victory.  Through very close competition in the elimination rounds held before a record attendance during the exhibition opening on Thursday night and the finals on Friday afternoon, every one of the twelve teams representing the U.S. and Canada played with a high level of intensity and confidence.  Congratulations go out to the Florida team members Rudd Milam, Ricardo Vasquez, Gene Grant and our very own Ray Vance (aka the Professor) who held on in the finals to defeat the very tough Northeast team.
