Apartment Building Saved for Thanksgiving

Apartment building saved by fire sprinklers.
Wayne Automatic installed fire Sprinklers in this building for Progress Builders last summer. The building is occupied by students attending Coastal Carolina University. They lost power temporarily over the weekend while this tenant was cooking. Unfazed, the occupant left to get something else…without turning off the stove.
When the fire department arrived the fire was already out. No one was hurt and only two heads activated.
The system was designed by Drew Jester and installed by Frank Martinez. Mike Conover drove 3 hours to the job to get their system back in service.
Everybody still had the opportunity to have a Happy Thanksgiving.

This demonstration was held on September 29th, in conjunction with the Camden, South Carolina Fire and Rescue Department to celebrate Fire Safety week. The team will have another demonstration in Pegacay, South Carolina for more information go to www.scfalse.org.

David represented the ABC Florida Gulf Coast Chapter at the competition held in San Antonio on April 24th – 27th 2012. “ABC is honored to recognize the winners of the National Craft Championships for their high-quality workmanship, technical knowledge and safe work practices,” said 2012 ABC National Chairman Eric Regelin, president of Granix, LLC, Ellicott City, Md. “These craft trainees are the best of the best and show us that there is a bright future ahead for ABC and the U.S. construction industry.”
